Is Quader asked to say about India’s role in next polls: BNP

Dhaka, Apr 26 – BNP on Thursday alleged that Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader’s remark that India will not interfere in Bangladesh’s next election has raised many questions in public mind.
Speaking at a discussion, BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam also wanted to know whether India has entrusted Quader with the responsibility for making the statement in favour of it.
“A 19-member big Awami League delegation went to India to exchange views with its ruling party. It’s good, and we always encourage such tours. But we didn’t understand why he said after returning home that India won’t interfere in Bangladesh’s next election,” the BNP leader said.
Fakhrul further said, “Whether India has given him the charge to say it. Who has given him the responsibility to speak in favour of India?
Sammilita Buddhist Nagorik arranged the programme at the Jatiya Press Club.
The BNP leader said Quader might have created a big problem regarding international relation with the neighbouring country as no one has given him the right to speak in favour of India. “His statement has raised many questions among the people of entire Bangladesh.”
