Islami Bank’s SME client gets loan

Saifuddin Ahmed Chowdhury, proprietor of M/s SH Traders and one of the investment clients of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited, Andarkilla branch here, received Tk 50 lakh as loan from the bank’s branch.Industries Minister Dilip Barua handed over a cheque for the money to him at a hotel here on Wednesday, according to a press release.
As a small trader, Saifuddin received the loan and the minister handed over the cheque, the release said.
Dr. Towfiq Ahmed Chowdhury, director general of Bangladesh Institute of Bank Manageme nt, Nirmal Chandra Vakta, executive director of Bangladesh Bank, Chittagong Branch, Ali Reza Iftekhar, vice Chairman of Association of Bankers Bangladesh, Mohammad Mujibur Rahman, acting managing director of SME Foundation and Mohammad Munirul Moula, executive vice president of IBBL and Head of Chittagong South Zone, were present.
