A bill, ‘Islamic Arabic University Bill 2013’, went through Parliament on Wednesday, aiming to modernise madrasah education. Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid tabled the bill that was passed by voice vote. According to the objective of the Bill, this university will affiliate around 1,500 Fazil and Kamil madrasahs in the country like the National University. The university will develop the madrasah education, modernise it, formulate curricula for Fazil (graduation) and Kamil ( post-graduation), train the teachers and carry out all other jobs for the affiliated madrasahs. – UNB
