Jagpa president Rehana Prodhan passes away

Professor Rehana Prodhan, president of Jatiya Ganatantrik Party (Jagpa), passed away at a city hospital on Monday. She was 63.

Rehana, also the wife of late Shafiul Alam Prodhan, wash taken to Care Hospital in the city after she fell sick around 7:30am where she died later, Jagpa general secretary Khandaker Lutfur Rahman told UNB.

He said Rehana had long been suffering from diabetes and heart disease.She is survived by one daughter, one son and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn her death.

Lutfur Rahman said Rehana will be buried at Banani Graveyard after her namaz-e-janaza at Baitul Haram Mosque in Mohammadpur area in the evening.

Rehana was a professor of Social Science department of Lalmatia Mohila College.She was made president of Jagpa, one of the components of the BNP-led 20-party alliance, after Shafiul Alam Prodhan died on May 17, 2017.
