A delegation of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami on Monday met Russian Ambassador in Dhaka Alexander A. Nikolaev at the latter’s office and discussed the current political situation.
Jamaat assistant secretary general Barrister Abdur Razzaq led the delegation. A Jamaat leader, wishing not to be quoted, confirmed UNB over phone that the meeting was held at the Russian envoy’s residence. “But I can’t divulge the issues discussed at the meeting,” he said. Another party source, however, said the Jamaat leaders discussed various issues, including the current political situation and polls issues. – UNB
