Police arrested a local leader of Jamaat-e-Islami from Bak Point area in the district town on charge of subversion on Wednesday.
The arrestee was identified as Anwar Hossain,45, ameer of Sadar thana unit Jamaat. Officer-in-charge Makbul Hossain of Sadar Model Police Station said on a tip-off, a team of police conducted a drive in the area and arrested Anwar at about 5:15 pm.Police arrested Anwar on charge of carrying out subversive activities, the OC added. -UNB, Sunamganj
