Police arrested a local leader of Jamaat-e-Islami from Sridharpur in Biswanath upazila on Tuesday noon.
The arrestee was identified as Fakhrul Islam Khan, Sura member of Sylhet city unit Jamaat and also president of the district Shramik Kalyan Federation.Officer-in-charge of Biswanath Police Station Rafiqul Hossain said tipped off, a team of police conducted a raid on the house of Fakhrul in the area and arrested him at about 12 noon.The arrestee was wanted in several cases filed for vandalism and subversive activities, said the OC.Sylhet Correspondent
