Police in a drive arrested six leaders and activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir from a mess at Kumargaon in Sadar upazila early Tuesday.
The arrested were identified as Shakib Ahmad, 25, president of Fatehpur Madrasa unit Shibir, Minhaz Uddin, 24, office secretary of Sadar upazila unit of the organisation and its activists Jakaria Ahmad, 27, Saiful Islam, 22, Harunur Rashid, 24, Rahat Din Sayed, 22.Jalalabad Police Station sub-inspector Zakir Ahmed said, On a tip-off, police conducted a drive at the mess around 2:00 am and arrested the six Shibir leaders and activists, Police also recovered a huge number of jihadi leaflets and books from their possession.
