Dhaka – Jamaat-e-Islami has expressed its desire to take part in the ongoing dialogue of political parties with the Election Commission (EC) to ensure participation of people in the next general elections.“Since the Jamaat is a registered party and the case regarding its registration is lying with the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court. Naturally, the Jamaat as a representative party has the right to join the EC dialogue,” acting secretary general of Jamaat Maulana ATM Masum said this in a letter to the Chief Election Commissioner.
The letter said the participation of Jamaat in the dialogue is necessary to make the ongoing dialogue for a participatory election a success.
