Valuable equipment and medicines in Jamalpur General Hospital cannot be preserved properly in the absence of a large medical store room.
Hospital sources said after upgrading the hospital to 250 beds, many modern medical equipment and medicine are allotted to the hospital but for adequate medical storing facilities those cannot be preserved properly.
Civil Surgeon Dr Mohammad Hafizur Rahman said, more modern equipment have been installed in the hospital including C-ARM x-ray machine, incubator, sucker machine, ultra sonogram machine, etc to increase health services. Many others equipment and medicines have also been allotted but for a proper medical storeroom we cannot preserve those.
On the other hand, many types of equipment which were allotted for the hospital could not be received due to lack of medical storeroom, he added.
He also said due to various step patients in the hospital are getting better healthcare facility since 2009. About 300 to 400 patients are taking treatment facilities everyday.
He drew the attention of the concerned higher authority to set up a medical storeroom in the hospital immediately. -BSS, Jamalpur
