The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka yesterday (Thursday) afternoon placed two central leaders of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) on a three-day remand each for interrogation. Earlier, Sub-Inspector Anser Ali of Metropolitan Detective Branch (BD) of Police produced them to the court with a remand prayer for ten days. Magistrate Meher Nigrar of the CMM Court granted the remand after hearing. The detectives arrested the two leaders on Wednesday night from Kalyanpur area of the city allegedly with 20 petrol bombs.
The arrestees are Md. Jakirul Islam, President of Jahangirnagar University JCD unit and Joint Organizing Secretary of JCD central committee, and Mrinal Kanti Das, Assistant General Secretary of JCD central committee. – Court Correspondent
