A mobile court here on Sunday sentenced a suspected member of banned Islamist militant outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) to one year’s imprisonment for carrying out sabotage in Sadar upazila.
The convict was identified as Selim Babu alias Tak Babu, son of Tamijuddin Sardar, a resident of Itagachha area in the district town.
Police said they arrested Selim in Itagachha area while he was trying to carry out sabotage in the morning.Later, he was produced before the mobile court, led by executive magistrate Shah Abdul Sadi, which sentenced him to one year’s imprisonment.District Police Information officer sub-inspector Kamal Hossain confirmed the matter.UNB, Satkhira
