Speakers at a training programme urged the journalists to come forward with the mentality to acquire knowledge on outsourcing to earn remittance through performing contractual jobs to change their lots economically.
Speakers said online outsourcing has become a promising alternative to traditional employment in today’s era and created new opportunities for the workers to access and compete in global job markets, from anywhere at any time if they have computer and internet access, they commented.
They made this comments while addressing the inaugural ceremony of a day-long Basic Outsourcing Training for the journalists, media workers at the conference room of deputy commissioner (DC) this morning.
District administration arranged the training programme under Learning and Earning Development Project of Information and Communication Technology Division under the Ministry of Post, Telecommunication and Information Technology in cooperation with Shushilan, a NGO of the country.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) M. Abdus Samad formally inaugurated the training programme as the chief guest. Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) M. Shamsul Azam presided over the function.
Regional Coordinator of Shushilan Abdul Alim and District Coordinator Nirupam Bhuiyan spoke on the occasion. IT specialist MHE Noor was the moderator.
Speaking at the function, DC M. Abdus Samad said the project is one of the development ones of ICT Division that’s overall objective to conduct training programme to catalyst the growth of freelancer for self-employment and promoting on line outsourcing.
Later, the journalists were imparted training on outsourcing, freelancing, online market places, ways of becoming freelancers, earn online by writing, payment and money withdrawal methods elaborately.
Trainers Al Mamun and Russel Miah conducted the training sessions as the resource persons.
A total of 30 journalists working in different print and electronic media from the district took part in the training.
