Savar – A 2-day long seminar on “Philosophy of Bengal: Tracing Nature and Origin” started on Wednesday at the Jahangirnagar University (JU) campus. The Philosophy department of the university organised this seminar at its conference room, in cooperation with the Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP).
JU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr Farzana Islam inaugurated the function while the chairman of the department Prof Md. Tarique Choudhury was in the chair.
While inaugurating the seminar, Dr Farzana said, ‘Philosophy teaches people to think. People will be able to generate new ideas from this programme’.
‘This workshop will help to find out the source of knowledge and philosophy of our own country,’ she added.
Moderated by Prof Dr Kamrul Ahsan, Prime Asia University VC Prof Dr Hannan Chowdhury, JU Pro-VC Prof Dr Abul Hossain, Treasurer Prof Shiekh Mozurul Huq, Dean of Arts and Humanities Faculty Prof Dr Mozammel Haque also addressed as the special guests.
Prof Dr Galib Ahsan Khan, Rashida Akhter Khanom and Dr Kazi Nurul Islam of Dhaka University (DU), Dr Shawkat Hossen of Jahangirnagar University (JU) and Researcher and writer Suman Kumar Das are expected to confer the tomorrow’s session – Anas Uddin Ovi
