Rejecting the International Crime Tribunal (ICT)-1 verdict of Gulam
Azam, Ganojagaran Mancha of Jahangirnagar University (JU) on Tuesday
observed hartal peacefully.
The Mancha also blockaded the busy Dhaka-Aricha highway protesting the
awarded 90 years jail instead of death sentence to the former Jamaat
Amir for his crimes against humanity during liberation war in 1971.
Speakers here said, “The verdict failed to reflect the expectations of
the nation and therefore, we are rejecting the verdict.” They also
demanded the ban on Jammat-Shibir politics and urges to government to
take hard initiatives in this regards soon.
During the hartal hour, no classes and examinations of most of the
