A local Jubo League activist was hacked to death by miscreants in Banglabazar of Begumganj upazila on Sunday night.The deceased was identified as Kamal Hossain, 32, son of Abdul Gofran of Basanterbagh village of the upazila.Police and family members said Kamal was returning home on a motorcycle in Basanterbagh area around 6:30pm.A group of miscreants numbering 4 to 5 suddenly swooped on him.They beat him with sticks and hacked him with sharp weapons indiscriminately, leaving him injured.They also cut off the tendons of his hands and legs.Critically injured, Kamal was rushed to Begumganj Upazila Health Complex and later shifted to Noakhali Medical College Hospital (NMCH) where doctors declared him dead.
