Jute and Textile minister and Awami League (AL) presidium member Abdul Latif Siddiqui
said on Wednesday that BNP-Jamaat alliance has been carrying out subversive activities
across the country.
“The BNP enforced blockade programmes in the name of caretaker Government issue
rather than it was enforced to save the war criminals”, he said this while addressing an
election rally at Central Shaheed Miner here.
The BNP and Jamaat have already isolated from the people for enforcing the non-stop
blockade programmes that keeping country’s people to confinement, the minister said.
He added that they would neither able to save the war criminals nor resist the upcoming
national election.
The minister urged the voters to exercise their franchise defying all threats of the anti-
liberation forces.
In this context, Abdul Latif Siddiqui sought vote in favour of the Awami League
candidate Arif Khan Joy.
AL should be voted to power again by the people for steering the nation towards
progress and prosperity and upholding the spirit of the liberation war under the able
leadership of Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina, he said.
Chaired by acting president of AL Netrakona district unit and administrator of Netrakona
Zila Parishad Motiur Rahman Khan, the rally was addressed by the party’s central and
local leaders including former food minister Dr Abdur Razzak, organizing secretary of AL
central committee Ahmed Hussain, deputy publicity secretary of AL central committee
Asim Kumar Ukil, president of AL Mymensing district unit principal Motiur Rahman, MP,
Ashraf Ali Khan Khasru, MP, chairman of Netrakona sadar upazila parishad Tafsiruddin
Khan, mayor of Netrakona municipality Prasanta Ray and the AL nominated candidate
