Kader Siddiqui now wants to contest the Narayanganj-5 by-poll after the Election Commission had earlier cancelled his nomination for the Tangail by-election because of a defaulted loan.
The Krishak Sramik Janata League’s Narayanganj district unit organising secretary Abu Bakar Siddique bought the nomination paper on behalf of the party chief on Sunday.Earlier, in March, the Election Commission (EC) cancelled Siddiqui’s nomination for the Tangail-8 by-election because of a loan default.
He later challenged the EC decision in the High Court but the verdict went against him. – bdnews24.com
