Chairman of a section Jatiya Party Kazi Zafar Ahmed on Saturday termed HM Ershad as traitor and shameless.
“Ershad will never have a birth in Jatiya Party,” he said while addressing a function at Institute of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IDEB).The former prime mister criticised the role of India during the war of liberation in 1971 and said they did not assist Bangladesh on moral grounds but in their own interest.
He termed the forthcoming Indian election as turning point for Bangladesh.
Zafar claimed that Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhasani was the architect of the independence and Ziaur Rahman the proclaimer of the independence.
Presided over by Dr TIM Fazle Rabbi, the function was also addressed, among others, by BNP leader Abdullah Al Noman, Jatiya Party leaders—SMM Alam and Ahsan Habib Linkon. – Staff Reporter
