Purba Bangla Communist Party activist killed in blast

An activist of the outlawed Purba Bangla Communist Party has been killed in a bomb attack in Jhenaidah’s Harinakundu.
Jahangir Hossain, 45, came under the attack on Friday night and died on Saturday morning, said Harinakundu Police Station OC Mohibul Islam.He was on his way back home when miscreants hurled a bomb at him.
Locals rescued him and rushed him to the Sadar Hospital.
When his condition deteriorated he was shifted to the Faridpur Medical College and Hospital where he died in the morning, the OC said.
Hossain surrendered in 1999 but was later nabbed with weapons in 2003.
He was sentenced to 14 years in jail, but was out on bail given by the High Court. – bdnews24.com
