Khaleda denounces Barcelona attacks

Strongly denouncing the deadly terror attacks in Barcelona, Spain, BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia on Saturday said united efforts of the global community are a must to eliminate the network of the bloodthirsty terrorists.

In a statement, she said the Barcelona terror attack is heinous, barbaric and heartbreaking incident. “The bloody violence of the extremists shook the world community’s conscience. The extremists are dangerous criminals and enemies of humanity.”

Drivers plough into pedestrians in two quick successions, separate attacks in Barcelona and another popular Spanish seaside city on Thursday, leaving 13 people dead and injuring more than 100 others.

Describing the attacks as cruel, cowardly and brutal ones, Khaleda said the terrorists are desperate to destabilise the world by taking human blood. “They’re indulging in such inhuman acts all over the world. It seems there’s no respite from such acts.”

The BNP chief expressed her solidarity with the initiatives taken by the Spanish government to curb terrorism following the deadly attacks.

She expressed her deep shock over the huge causalities in the brutal attacks, and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed souls and wished early recovery of those injured.
