Khaleda deserves death sentence for killing people: Inu

BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia will have to be condemned to death for burning people to death in the name of a movement as Jamaat leaders were sentenced to death for their war crimes, said Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu on Sunday.

He came up with the remarks while speaking at a mass rally at Central Shaheed Minar in the capital. Dhaka, UNB News Agency Reported.

The Awami League-led 14-party alliance arranged the rally in protest against the ongoing killings, terrorism and anarchy, and conspiracy against Prime Minister’s ICT adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy.

Inu, also president of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal, demanded that Khaleda Zia be vanished from the politics forever.

He accused the BNP chief of carrying out killings across the country after having failed to oust the government burning people during their 93-day mayhem in the name of hartal and blockade programme.

Presided over by Health Minister Mohammed Nasim, the programme was addressed, among others, by Workers’ Party President and Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon, Awami League presidium member and Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury, 14-party leader Dilip Barua and Awami League joint general secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif.

Later, Nasim, also the spokesperson of the alliance, announced that they will hold a rally in Rajshahi on May 15 and rallies in all other districts on May 24, protesting the killings, including that of Rajshahi University teacher Prof AFM Rezaul Karim Siddiquee.
