Khaleda heating up politics over EC reconstitution: Inu

Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu on Sunday alleged that BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is heating up the field of politics by what he said talking about the reconstitution of the present Election Commission (EC) in the name of creating a congenial atmosphere for the election. “She (Khaleda) didn’t make any comment about the Election Commission in the last four years. But, she is now warming the field (of political) up raising bare-voice over creation of environment favourable for the election,” he said.   Inu came up with the remark while talking to reporters at a meeting at the conference room of Kushtia deputy commissioner (DC) office.   BNP leaders, including its chief Khaleda, on a number of occasions have termed the present election commissioners ‘subservient’ to the ruling Awami League and were of the view that free and fair election is not possible under the commission.   Over the much-hyped dialogue among the political parties to resolve the present political crisis, Inu urged the opposition leader to sit in a dialogue with the government making a proposal to find out solution to the crisis over the polls-time government.   The minister, however, said Khaleda already refused to sit for talks placing pre-conditions before initiating it. – UNB
