Khaleda sued for bomb blasts in Shahjahan Khan’s Gulshan rally

The Dhaka  district unit of Sramik League, Awami League’s worker associate, lodged a case with Gulshan Police Station of the capital against BNP Chief and 13 leaders and activists of her party in connection with Monday’s crude bomb blasts at a procession led by Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan in Gulshan area.

Ismail Bachchu, general secretary of Dhaka district unit Sramik League, filed the other case with Gulshan Police Station on Monday night, said Firoz, Inspector (Investigation) of Gulshan Police Station. The case statement says that BNP Chief has been sued for instigating the attack.
BNP Vice Chairmen Selima Rahman and M Hafizuddin Ahmed, BNP chairperson’s adviser Khandaker Mahbub Hossain, BNP Joint Secretary General Salahuddin Ahmed, Khaleda Zia’s Press Secretary Maruf Kamal Khan and her Special Assistant Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas are included in the list of the accused.Five people were injured in the crude bomb attack at the procession of workers and freedom fighters led by Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan in Gulshan area on Monday afternoon.

Meanwihle, A court of Dhaka on Tuesday deferred the submission of probe report in a case filed against BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia for hurting religious sentiment of the people and creating chaos through provocative remarks to May 18.

Magistrate Shamsul Arefin of the CMM Court of Dhaka passed the order as police did not submit the probe report on Tuesday. Earlier, January 20 was scheduled to submit the report.

On October 21, last year, Jananetri Council President AB Siddiqui filed the case in connection with the BNP Chief’s remarks at a meeting organised for exchange of greetings on the occasion of Hindu community’s Durga festival. – – Court Correspondent
