Film actor Helal Khan on remand in vandalism case

The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon placed national award winner film actor and producer Helal Khan on a two-day remand in a case filed with Badda Police Station for vandalism and arson attack.
Magistrate Sabrina Ali of the court passed the order after Investigation Officer of the case Sub-Inspector Abu Zayed Md Najmun-Noor of the Detective Branch (DB) of police produced the actor to the court with a ten-day remand plea.Earlier on Monday afternoon, plain-clothed detectives picked up Helal Khan, who is also a leader of BNP`s cultural wing Jatiyatabadi Samajik Sangskritik Sangstha (Jsss), from Johnson Road in the old Dhaka of the capital. It has been learnt that Helal was going back after meeting BNP Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi in the court, when the BNP leader was brought to the court for hearing in connection with another fresh remand of ten days.
Helal Khan was shown arrested in the case filed with Badda Police Station on February 2 for vandalizing car and setting fire on it at Pragati Sarani in the capital. – Court Correspondent
