Khaleda’s Niko graft case charge hearing deferred

Dhaka – The Special Judge Court-9 of Dhaka on Monday deferred the charge hearing of the Niko corruption case to January 15 of 2018.BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia’s lawyer advocate Sanaullah Mia sought time as his client could not appear to the court while Judge Mahmudul Hassan of the court granted the plea and fixed the new date.
The ACC filed the case agaist five, including Khaleda Zia, with Tejgaon Model Police Station on December 9, 2007on the charge of abusing official capacity to ink a deal with Canadian company Niko for exploring and extracting gas.
