Khulna Titans sign Paul Stirling, David Wiese

Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) team Khulna Titans have inked deals with Irish cricketer Paul Stirling and South African cricketer David Wiese for the upcoming edition of BPL which is scheduled begin on January 5 next.
The Titans had signed with West Indian left-arm pacer Sherfane Rutherford, but he failed to obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the respective board. And this is why they brought in Paul Stirling as his replacement.David Wiese, the Protea all-rounder, earned the call as the ninth overseas recruit of the Titans.
Minhaz Uddin Khan, the media and commercial manager of Khulna Titans, confirmed the inclusion of these two newbies to BPL. He said: “Since Sherfane Rutherford failed to obtain a NOC, we were in a dire need to find a replacement. We think Paul is a great addition to the Titans squad. And we hope David is also capable of bringing some good results for us.”
Paul Stirling is the second Irish player after Niall O’Brien to feature in the most prestigious domestic cricket of Bangladesh. Paul has played 174 T20 matches across the leagues and scored 4196 runs with taking 62 wickets. He also represented Ireland in 52 T20 Internationals and scored 1181 runs with taking 15 wickets.
On the other hand, David Wiese played 180 T20 and scored 1503 runs and took 144 scalps. He recorded four five-fors in T20s. He has the vast experience of playing in several T20 leagues across the globe. David featured in a T20 International for the last time back in 2016 for South Africa against Sri Lanka. Since then he has been playing in England for Sussex under a Kolpak contract.
