Koko’s Namaz-e-Janaza at Baitul Mukarram Mosque Tuesday

Namaz-e-janaza of Arafat Rahman Koko, the youngest son of late President Ziaur Rahman and BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia will be held at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque after asr prayer on Tuesday.
“The venue for namaz-e-janaza of Koko has been shifted from in front of BNP central office at Naya Paltan to Baitul Mukarram for conveniencde of the masses people,” said party joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi in a statement. He said Koko, who died of heart attack at 12:30pm (BST) on Saturday in Malaysia, would be buried at Banani Army Graveyard after his second namaz-e-janaza.
Rizvi Ahmed called upon all including leaders and activists of BNP and its front organisations to take part in namaz-e-janaza of Koko and his burial ceremony.
In another statement, he announced that the ghaibana namaj-e-janaza of Koko would be held on Tuesday instead of Wednesday.
He rescheduled the time for ghaibana janaza through a press statement issued on Monday.
The ghaibana janaza will be held at 10:30am across the country, except the capital city of Dhaka.
The BNP leader called upon all including party leaders and activists to take part in the ghaibana janaza in their respective areas.
The ghaibana janaza was scheduled to be held across the country on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the coffin of Koko will be brought to Dhaka this morning by a Malaysian airline.
The BNP has taken up a three-day mourning programme at the death of Koko. The flight is expected to arrive at the Airport at 11:30am.
The coffin of Koko will be received by five BNP leaders. They are: BNP standing committee members Dr Abdul Moeen Khan and Nazrul Islam Khan, Abdullah Al Noman, Chowdhury Kamal Ibne Yusuf and Giasuddin Quader Chowdhury.
Shyrul Kabir Khan, a member of BNP chairperson’s media wing said the casket containing body of Koko will be taken directly to his mother Gulshan office.
Later, the body of Koko will be taken to Baitual Mukarram for his namaz-e-janaza, the first in Bangladesh. – Staff Reporter
