Komola Rocket has won the Jury Prize at the recently concluded Festival du Film D’Asie du Sud.
This year the festival ran from February 12 to 17 in Paris for the sixth annual edition. The six-day long festival prioritized young filmmakers from Asia. The other participants in the competitive section of the festival were Mukkabaz by Indian director Anurag Kashyap, Round Figure by India’s Hardik Mehta, Ralang Road by Karma Takapar, Sangharsha by French director Nicolas Jaoul, Abu: Father by Pakistani director Arshad Khan and Azmaish by Pakistani director Sabiha Sumar. Komola Rocket was screened on February 13 at Le Grand Rex in Paris.
Komola Rocket is the first film by Noor Imran Mithu. It has already grabbed for him the Best Debut Director Award in Sri Lanka. It has also won the Hiralal Sen Padak at University of Dhaka’s Amar Bhashar Chalachitra Utshob.
Behind closed doors, Komola Rocket depicts Bangladesh’s multiple facets.”
The film stars Mosharraf Karim, Tauqir Ahmed, Joyraj, Samia Said, Seuti, Dominic Gomez, Sujat Shimul, Shahidullah Shabuj, Bappa Shantanu and more.
