A land developer was abducted by some miscreants from Joykhali area
under Batiaghata upazila in the district on Saturday night.
The victim was identified as Suranjan Sutar, 37, owner of Sabuz Bangla
Housing Estate and also general secretary of Jalma union Puja Udjapon

Victim’s wife Durga Rani said Suranjan and his friend Dr Kumud were
going to Kaiya Bazar on a motorbike. Suddenly, around seven miscreants
riding three motorbikes came and opened fire on them and picked up
Suranjan. Dr Kumud managed to flee away.
His business rivals might have abducted him, she added.
Police seized two rounds of bullet, a magazine, a ramda and a towel
