Three members of a family, including a child, were killed in an incident of rain-triggered landslide at a tea garden in South Shahbazpur of Baralekha upazila on Saturday morning.
The deceased were identified as Rajesh, 35, his wife Manju, 25, and their eight-month-old daughter Shima.The couple used to work in the tea garden.
Akbar Hossain, officer-in-charge of Baralekha Police Station, said the incident occurred at 9:00 am when a heavy chunk of mud from a hill beside, loosened by rain, collapsed on the house of Rajesh, leaving him, his wife and daughter dead on the spot.
Being informed, police recovered the bodies and sent those to Sadar hospital morgue for autopsy. – UNB
