Large cap securities drive share markets up further

Considerable gain in large cap securities drove the share markets further up on Tuesday when all market indicators finished higher with rising transactions.

The rising major sectors were textile, insurance and financial institutions. A total of 151 large-cap securities moved up due to higher market activities.

The broader price DSEX index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) closed the day with 18.13 points up at 5,500.66. The blue-chip DS30 and the Shariah DSES also followed the same trend with 2.34 points up at 2047.17 and with 2.97 points up at 1273.84 respectively.

The day’s trade value at DSE increased to Taka 639.44 crore from Monday’s Taka 596.02 crore and the daily trade also rose to 18.60 crore share from 15.69 crore share of the previous session.

At DSE, out of the day’s 331 securities, prices of 184 securities closed higher against 95 losing issues.

The major gaining issues were Nurni Dying, Tosrifa Industry, Asia Pacific Insurance, IFIC and Premier Leasing. The major losing issues were NBL, Jamuna Bank, SAVAREFR, EBL NRB MF and Central Insurance.

SPCL topped the turnover list followed by BRAC Bank, Lanka Bangla Finance, and MJL BD.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with upward trend with its major CASPI 65.91 points up at 17,045.32, reports BSS.
