One person was killed and five others injured as lightning struck
Majna Bari in Kazipur upazila on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Asadul Islam, 35, son of Abdur Rahman
of Alalmpur village in the upazila.
Locals said Asadul died on the spot and five others injured when a
thunderbolt struck them while they were going to the Jamuna river for
catching fish by a van.
The injured were admitted to Sirajganj General Hospital.
In another lightning a woman was killed at Chandra Protab Basail
Village at Shibalaya Upazila of Manikganj district Friday early
morning. The deceased was identified as Rabia Khatun (44), wife of
Abdul Jalil. Locals said, she was she went out at the call of nature
in the morning. But when she came near her room a lightning hit and
she died on the spot.
