Limon gets HSC GPA-4, wanted to be barrister

Limon Hossain maimed by RAB shooting on March 23, 2011, just fortnight
before appearing HSC exam 2011, passed HSC with GPA-4 this year and
want to be a barrister to fight for justice. Limon appeared for final
part of HSC exam 2013 in Business Management course at Kaukhali Boys
School Center from Kawkhali PGS School and College under Bangladesh
Technical Education Board. He received GPA-4 in the part -1 of the
course from the same institution and now wanted financial assistance
and shelter for university admission coaching and continuing his
study. Md. Nasiruddin, principal of the college, said the result was
published by Bangladesh Technical Education Board on  Saturday and
they informed that to Limon. Limon was a brilliant student and could
easily complete his HSC level study with GPA-5, if the mishap of his
life would not be happened only fortnight before his exam in 2011, the
principal told. Limon said, my life has been changed from a complete
man and I have turned to a lame. But my result proved that I have not
lost my battle for study. Now my only dream to complete education and
helping poor family members by employment, who lost their last
farthings to fight for my survival. I hope to done well in next study
life  and still raring my dream to serve humanity in future after
completing higher education in law to help the people who often
deprive or defeat after seeking justice, Limon said.
Henoara Begum, mother of Limon, said we have to bear extra expenses of
legal battles, tuitions, lodging and feeding, transportation to
college, exam hall, renting a house near the institution for my lamed
son. Henoara Begum said none could compensate torture on Limon,
amputating an organ form his body, harassments of family members.
But now we are happy that Limon won the battle and he will continue
his Journey for study and profession in future life, she added
Mentionable a RAB team reportedly shot and arrested Limon, who used to
work in a brick kiln to bear his educational expenses, in the leg
after taking him to a place adjacent to his house at Jamaddarhat in
Rajapur Upazila of Jhalakathi on March 23, less than a fortnight
before his Higher Secondary Certificate examinations were to begin.
RAB on the same day filed two cases against the teenager and seven
others under the arms act and another case for obstructing government
duty, making attempts to murder and injuring RAB personnel. Limon’s
left leg was amputated from the thigh on March 27 at Dhaka National
Institute for Traumatolgy and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR)
Hospital as the tissues were totally damaged due to excessive bleeding
caused by delay in treatment after the shooting.The order of home
ministry about withdrawal of charge in a case under arms act against
Limon Hossain, accepted by the Jhalakathi trial court on July 30, 2013
after 857 days of the maiming by Rapid Action Battalion.
The hearing for withdrawal charges against Limon in another case no.
GR-46 lodged by RAB for obstructing official duty, making attempts to
murder and injuring RAB personnel, would be heard on August 18, 2013.
Henoara Begum said she will continue her fight for justice against the
six RAB personnel accused in her case lodged on April 10, 2011 for
attempt to murder, severe injury and maiming her son. – Our
