Two lovers have allegedly committed suicide by hanging themselves with a single scarf from a tree at Bhumurdia village in Sadar upazila.
One of the deceased was identified as Imran, 25, son of Harun Sheikh of the village.
Police recovered the bodies of the duo hanging from the tree near a beel (water body) at the village on Friday afternoon.
Locals spotted the hanging bodies at noon and informed police, said Sheikh Matiur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station.
Later, the law enforcers recovered the bodies and sent those to Narail Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
Police suspected that the duo took their lives over love affairs.
