Mahmudullah, Boult both in the dock

Dhaka – The International Cricket Council (ICC) has fined Bangladesh all-rounder Mahmudullah Riyad and New Zealand speedster Trent Boult for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct during the second ODI at Christchurch on Saturday.

Specifically, the fines were for the two players breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct, but in separate incidents.

Mahmudullah has been fined 10 percent of his match fee for ‘abusing’ cricketing equipment while leaving the field after his dismissal while Boult fined 15 percent of his match fee for using an ‘audible obscenity’ on the field.

In a media release ICC said, Mahmadullah struck a picket fence with his bat while leaving the field after his dismissal while Boult uttered obscenities on two occasions when his team were fielding.

Mahmudllah disappointed with the bat as he scored only seven in the match before being dismissed by Todd Astle while Boult took a wicket in 10 over conceding 49 runs.

Along with fining match fees, one demerit point has been added to their names for the first time.

The Kiwis secured victory in the three-match ODI series 2-0 beating the Tigers by eight wickets in both the matches.

The third and final ODI of the series will be held on February 20.

Both teams have arrived in Dunedin, the venue of the third and final match of the series. Bangladesh will enter the last match – otherwise a dead rubber – desperate to avoid a whitewash, for which they have to do something they have never done before – beat New Zealand in New Zealand.UNB
