Malayalam actor Ravi Vallathol passes away

Ravi Vallathol – Malayalam actor and a great theatre personality, took his last breath Saturday at his residence in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Reportedly, the 67 year old actor was unwell for a couple of years and succumbed to age-related illness. It’s even said that he was under treatment for Alzheimer’s disease.
Ravi has acted in over 50 films and many notable television shows. The actor was known for his fine performances and intense roles in the Malayalam film industry. He had made his debut with Swathi Thirunal, directed by late filmmaker Lenin Rajendran in 1987. Some of the best works of Ravi are Season, Godfather, Chathurangam, Vidheyan, Kottayam Kunjachan, Idukki Gold. He has many accolades in his three decade long career and was even conferred with Kerala State Award for best actor in the television series, American Dreams (2003).
Ravi was the son of drama artiste TN Gopinathan Nair and Soudamini and nephew of poet Vallathol Narayana Menon. He is survived by his wife Geetha Lakshmi. The couple had been running an organisation for mentally challenged named Thanal, reports filmfare.
