A man was stabbed to death by his elder brother at Bhatialpur village in Ramganj upazila on Sunday night over a trifling matter.The deceased was identified as Mohammad Alam, 30, son of late Syed Ahmed, a resident of the village.Quoting family members, police said Mohammad Alam locked into an altercation with his elder brother Nur Alam in the afternoon on Sunday over the lifting of a seed of betel-nut tree from his lands.At one stage, Nur stabbed him with a sharp weapon, leaving him critically injured, said Mohammad Tonta Miah, officer-in-charge of Ramganj Police Station.Later, Mohammad Alam was rushed to Ramganj Upazila Health Complex.As his condition was deteriorated, he was shifted to Noakhali Apollo Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries around 9:30pm. -UNB, Laxmipur
