DB Inspector and also the Investigation Officer (IO) of the case, Nibaron Chandra Barmon sought the remand. The prosecution story says, husband Azim Uddin Himu, 35, married college student Sumaiya Akhter Dola, concealing his identity and took her to Dhaka from Bhola. The accused had identified himself as a real-estate businessman. Himu tried to involve Dola in his illegal business, but as Dola refused, the accused killed her at his Mohammadpur residence on October 8, 2013. He had kept the dead body in his deep freeze to hoodwink the people that it was a suicide case.
On October 9, victim’s brother Arif Hasan lodged a murder case against Himu and later investigation of DB police revealed the motive of the murder. Meanwhile, victim’s father told newsmen that the accused bribed police to take the probe report of the murder case on his behalf.
