Criminals stabbed to death a man in Batiaghata upazila of Khulna
district over a land dispute on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Anis Molla, 32, son of Mukter Molla, a
resident of Labonchara area under Kotwali police station.
Police and locals said there had been a long-standing dispute between
Anis Molla and his neighbour Rafiqul Islam over a piece of land in the
said upazila.
A gang of criminals equipped with lethal weapons swooped on Anis Molla
and stabbed him indiscriminately yesterday at Harintana under
Batiaghata upazila while he was returning home.
He was rushed to Khulna Medical College Hospital where on duty doctor
declared him dead. Police have launched drive to nab the killers,
officer-in-charge (OC) of Batiaghata police station, Enamul Haque
said.
