Dhaka – A tribunal here on Tuesday convicted a man and sentenced him to death in a murder case.The court also fined condemned convict Ratan Hossain, 26, son of Saidur Rahman of Boalia area of the city, Tk 20,000. He was tried in absentia.According to the prosecution, Jonny Hossain, 25, son of Golam Mortaza, was stabbed to death by the convict over previous enmity on November 14, 2013.Belal Hossain, elder brother of Jonny, filed a case against nine people.After examining the records and witnesses, Speedy Trial Tribunal Judge Shirin Kabita Akhter handed down the verdict acquitting eight other accused as allegation brought against them could not be proved.UNB news agency
