Mashrafe to lead Dhaka Platoon in BBPL

Dhaka — Bangladesh ODI captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza is all set to lead Dhaka Platoon in the Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League (BBPL) which is slated to be played from December 11.

Mashrafe played his last competitive cricket match in the World Cup 2019 in England and Wales. Since then, he has been out of action.

However, the 36-year-old pacer started gearing up for the BBPL last week. Dhaka Platoon coach Mohammad Salahuddin said Mashrafe is set to play the whole league and that is why the team management appointed him as their captain.

Earlier, Mashrafe had led three different teams in BPL- Dhaka Gladiators, Comilla Victorians and Rangpur Riders. He also led these teams at least in one title-winning season.

A total of seven teams will participate in the BBPL. Apart from Dhaka Platoon, the other teams are Chattogram Challengers, Cumilla Warriors, Rangpur Rangers, Rajshahi Royals, Khulna Tigers and Sylhet Thunder.UNB
