Miscreants have hacked to death a local Awami League leader in Meherpur’s Gangni. Murdered Nurul Amin was the General Secretary of municipality unit Awami League.
The miscreants possibly attacked him when he was on his way back home from Banshbaria Bazar around 11pm, the younger brother Boni Amin said.
Police recovered the body on early morning Wednesday. The body was sent to Meherpur Hospital, Gangni Police Station OC Masudul Alam said.
Gangni Upazila Awami League leader Abdul Khalek demanded exemplary punishment for the killers.
Former Awami League MP Moqbul Hossain said Nurul Amin might have been killed for his active role in the election campaign. – bdnews24.com
