Shafin Ahmed, bassist of legendary Bangladeshi rock band Miles, could not join the other members of their band on the US tour due to passport related complications. The tour is a part of their world tour, marking their 40 years anniversary as a band.
Shafin announced in a recent press statement that he will join his band mates in the upcoming concerts as soon as he gets his passport back from the US embassy. Miles was formed in Dhaka in 1979 by Farid Rashid . The first line-up of the band consisted of: Farid Rashid on lead vocals and bass, Larry and Ishtiaq on guitar, Kamal Mainuddin on drums, and Happy Akhand on keyboard.
Over the four decades, the band has become one of the pioneering rock bands of Bangladesh. The band has made immense contributions to shaping the country’s rock music scene. The current members of the band are: Shafin Ahmed on vocals and bass, Hamin Ahmed on vocals and guitar, Manam Ahmed on keys, Turjo on drums, and Jewel on guitar and back-up vocals.
