‘Militant activities’: BCL vigilantes ensure arrest of 3 RU freshers

Rajshahi – Based on the say-so of Chhatra League vigilantes, police have arrested three first-year students of Rajshahi University (RU) on charges of “militant activities”. UNB news agency reported
Around 2:30 in the afternoon on Thursday, some campus head honchos of BCL, student wing of the ruling party, apprehended Jubayer Hossain (enrolled in the Marketing department), Al Towfiq Sunny (Geography and Environmental Science), and Maksudul Haque (Microbiology), around the campus’s Tukitaki Chattar, for spreading posts “related to militant activities” on Facebook.
Golam Kibria, BCL unit president of RU, said they subsequently informed police, who arrived to take them into custody.
The three arrestees were handed over to police, said Humayun Kabir, OC of Motihar Police Station.
