Milk adulteration ring unearthed in northern BD district Bogra

Bogra – Detectives have unearthed a milk adulteration cartel at Sihipur in Sonatala upazila.
Tipped off, a team of the Detective Branch (DB) of Bogra police held three members of the cartel along with some equipment from a house in the area on Sunday.The cartel has long been defrauding the customers by marketing adulterated milk in the upazila and other areas of the country through Brac milk purchase centers, according to police.
The arrestees – Abdul Hannan, 20, Sorojit Ghosh, 20, both residents of Taturia Paschimpara in Bera upazila of Pabna district Sajeeb Kumar Ghosh, 22, a resident of Pakulya in Sonatala upazila of Bogra district – have admitted that they used to adulterate milk by mixing water, soya bean oil and chemicals including hydrogen peroxide.
Superintendent of Bogra police Asaduzzaman said a case has been registered against the arrested persons.
The raid will make people alert about buying adulterated milk, he added. – UNB
