Angry mob set a bus ablaze after a minor boy was crushed under its wheels on Mirpur Road near Science Laboratory in the city on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Fahim, 10.
Officer-in-charge of Dhanmondi police station Nur-e-Azam Miah said a bus knocked down Fahim and ran over him when he and his mother were getting down from another bus in front of Anwar Khan Medical College Hospital near Science Laboratory at about 1:45 pm.
Local people got furious after the death and set afire the killer bus heading towards Azimpur from Gazipur.
On information, two units of firefighters rushed to the spot and doused the flame.
Sub-inspector Mehedi of Dhanmondi Police Station said they detained the bus driver and seized the vehicle.
