BNP chairperson’s adviser and Supreme Court Bar Association president Khandker Mahbub Hossain on Wednesday said the oppression on minorities are related to Awami League’s coming to power.
“Whenever Awami League comes to power, the oppression on minorities begins. Their assets and valuables are looted, though the party has constantly been asserting that they are minority-friendly and non-communal,” he said.Khandker Mahbub was addressing a function marking the launch of a book, titled ‘Minority Torture by Awami League’.
The programme was organised by the Human Rights Cell of BNP at SCBA auditorium.
Noting that AL always considers the minority community as a vote bank, Khandker Mahbub said that the whitepaper of minority oppression should be published to let the people know the reality.
