Police recovered the body of a schoolboy from Narangali village in Sadar upazila on Saturday evening after four days of his missing.
The deceased was identified as Riazul Islam Miraz, a class VI student of Jhikargacha BM High School and son of Mizanur Rahman of Lauzani village of Jhikargacha upazila.
Police and locals said Miraz went missing since he went out of his house with his bicycle on Wednesday morning.
Officer-in-charge of Jessore Kotwali Model Police Station Emdadul Haque Sheikh said local people spotted the body of Miraz near a canal in Naragali village on Saturday evening and informed police.
Later, law enforces recovered the body that bore several injury marks and sent it to hospital morgue for autopsy. -UNB, Jessore
One held with phensidyl in Narail
Police in a drive arrested a alleged drug peddler and recovered 769 bottles of phensidyl from Kurigram area of the district town this morning.
The arrested was identified as Liton Sheikh, 35, of the same area.
On a tip-off, a team of police conducted a drive in the area and arrested Liton from his house. Police also recovered the phensidyl from the house after getting his confessional statement, police sources said.
