Missing youth’s bullet-hit body recovered in Rangpur

Rangpur – Police recovered the bullet-hit body of a young man, who was picked up allegedly by law enforcers, from the city’s Nishbetganj area on Monday. The deceased was identified as Shakil alias Tokai Shakil, 26, a resident of Khamarpara adjacent of the Rangpur Railway Station.Locals saw the body lying under the Nishbetgonj Bridge and informed police who later recovered the body and sent it to Rangpur Medical College Hospital morgue for post mortem.
Officer-in-charge Shahabuddin Khalifa of Rangpur Kotwali Police Station said Shakil was accused in a number of cases, including of snatching, extortion, murder and robbery.
Besides, three cases were filed against him and his cohorts for vandalising the stationmaster room, ticket counter and waiting room of the railway station and attacking the GRP police station on January 15 after his release from jail on bail.- UNB
